Timer, Dice & Lists for Scattergories & Stop Game

This app does NOT allow you to enter your answers. It just provides the Timer, dice and lists to play categories word games in person, over zoom or while connected in other online meeting applications. All you need is just pen and paper for each player and good humor to enjoy.

It is inspired by many traditional word games such as Le jeu du baccalauréat, le petit bac, Scattergories, Stadt Land Fluss, Stop the Bus, Tutti Frutti and many other similar games. We created this game out of a need to play scattergories with friends on Zoom, which is not possible with the physical board game.

How to Play?

This version will require the host to set up your meeting using your favourite meeting tool (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams or Google Meet). Every player must have a pen and pad of paper to write their answers.

⦿ The designated hosting person has to use the Zoom screen sharing feature (or some other meeting software) to share their screen so you’re all players looking at the same list.

⦿ The generator displays the selected random letter on which the categories will be based. Tap the re-roll button at the top if a different letter is desired.

⦿ Tap play when everyone’s ready. The timer starts counting down and the categories are revealed

⦿ Each player writes one noun or name for each category on the list on their sheet of paper

⦿ After the selected period has elapsed, everyone shares their answers. If you give an alliterative answer (e.g., “Marilyn Monroe” for “celebrities that start with M”) you get an extra point. If someone else has the same answer as you, you both cross that item off.

⦿ Play as many rounds as you want. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.
