Mission Statement

GrocerEase is a phone application designed to assist people with dyslexia or other reading disorders, people with food allergies, and non-English speakers in the grocery store. The app conveys both nutrition information and potential allergens of grocery items in a variety of ways to the user. It can translate this information from English into almost any other language in the world.

Functions of GrocerEase

GrocerEase is designed so that all the user has to do is scan the barcode of any grocery item in order to receive free nutrition and allergy information. Upon scanning the item, information is displayed on the screen in words, in visuals, and through speech. The user can choose among these communication options. Through the app’s user-friendly layout, one can also easily filter their way through a large quantity of information and pinpoint what they want to know.
