Gentle Reminder is a simple phone app for the frail, elderly or people with memory problems (e.g. Alzheimer’s or dementia sufferers). It’s also designed to offer peace of mind for carers worried about their loved ones as it can monitor their where-abouts, falls or lack of movement.

This app is free and contains NO ads!

Features in brief:

Simple, clear and consistent interface, user information, photo contacts, phone, messaging, popup reminders and events, location alerts, movement alerts, fall detection, SOS button, track location, notes, photo memories, torch, magnifier, shopping list, weather, fully customisable home screen

Features in more detail:

• Large, clear and simple home screen buttons

• Details about the user (e.g. Name, address, medical conditions, allergies, things to remember etc)

• Day, date and time along with the current weather shown in large text on the home screen. The date and time is read out loud if the user touches the text.

• Clear and concise contacts. Large photos with name and relationship organised into groups (Family, Friends, Important and Other)

• Very simple phone call system. Just click on the large picture of the person to call. All missed calls are clearly shown with pictures (if it’s from a person in the contacts) of who called.

• Simple messaging system. Pick preset text messages from a list, ‘speak’ the message or type. Show all unread messages.

• Where Am I – Display the users current address and location on Google maps with ability to navigate Home or to someone in contacts

• Powerful Reminders system telling the user what is happening Today, Tomorrow and over the next week. (Options to sound alert, read out load, flash the camera light and vibrate). If the task in the reminder is not marked as completed after a set time period then a message can be sent to contacts.

• Alerts including:

- Location Alerts: notify selected contacts if the user move away or towards a set location

- Movement Alert: If the phone is not moved within a set time period each day, then send a message to selected contacts

- Battery Alert: if the battery reaches a set level, the user is alerted and if it reaches a critical level, an alert message is sent to selected contacts. A large battery icon is shown on the home screen when it gets to a set level.

• Fall detection: If the user falls and remains still for a set time period, then the system sounds an alarm and starts contacting people in sequence (either by phone or message unless the user speaks into the app to say they are OK).

• SOS button: If pressed then the system starts contacting selected people in sequence.

• Location and address details are sent with all alert messages

• Memories: swipe through images annotated with title, date and location.

• ‘I Need’ section: user can select items they need and send this ‘Shopping’ list to a contact. (e.g. food, medicines etc.)

• Where Was I: logs the user’s location throughout the day so they can remember where they have been.

• ‘Notes’ section: user can add one or more text notes with importance levels.

• ‘Torch’: Quickly turn on the camera flashlight to illuminate where they are in the dark.

• ‘Magnifier’: uses the phones camera to magnify text or anything else.

• Fully customisable home screen:

- Change the size, colour and order of home screen buttons

- Add any additional apps to the home screen

- Change the size of the date and time text

• Setup and protect the system with a PIN code (Hide the complex parts of the system and stop the user deleting important alerts and reminders etc.)

• Control editing of specific parts of the system (e.g. allow user to add/edit contacts , memories, or reminders).

• The app can be set as the default phone launcher (hiding the normal confusing phone home screens!)
