最具標誌性的語錄和思想的艾米莉·狄金森的集合
Emily Dickinson's collection of the most iconic quotations and thoughts.
If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain.
They might not need me; but they might. I'll let my head be just in sight; a smile as small as mine might be precisely their necessity.
Saying nothing... sometimes says the most.
Morning without you is a dwindled dawn.
Dogs are better than human beings because they know but do not tell.
Beauty is not caused. It is.
Where thou art, that is home.
Behavior is what a man does, not what he thinks, feels, or believes.
Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough.
The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience.
About Emily Dickinson:
was an American poet. Born in Amherst, Massachusetts, to a successful family with strong community ties, she lived a mostly introverted and reclusive life. After she studied at the Amherst Academy for seven years in her youth, she spent a short time at Mount Holyoke Female Seminary before returning to her family's house in Amherst. Considered an eccentric by the locals, she became known for her penchant for white clothing and her reluctance to greet guests or, later in life, even leave her room. Most of her friendships were therefore carried out by correspondence.
