Computer programming is the process of designing and writing computer programs. The purpose of programming is to create a set of instructions that a computer will follow to perform a task. When creating a computer program, the programmer must first think about how the task should be accomplished. He or she must decide what information the program needs and what kind of instructions should be given to the computer. Then the code must be written in a language that the computer understands so that it can follow the instructions.

Computer programming is a task that involves writing and maintaining the source code of computer software. The source code is written in a programming language like C, java, Perl etc with the help of a text editor. Generally, computer programmers are responsible for analyzing user requirements, writing, testing and debugging source code as well as maintaining the program code.
