Automation for Gmail works on simple principle - You set up some rules for incoming messages and actions which should be executed. When new message arrives to your mailbox app checks whether those rules apply to message. If message should be processed it will run all actions.

App offers lots of different rules including:

Subject contains (starts with / ends with / equals / ...) defined text

Email was sent from defined address / domain

Email has attachments or defined type of attachment

Message has user defined labels

Message is important / unread / spam / ...

App can execute multiple actions including:

Archive message

Mark as read

Save images from attachments to photo gallery

Add label

Reply to message or send new message to somebody else

Show notification

Show overlay notification for high priority messages

New rules and actions are added in each new version.
