CHORD STUDIO

Load a song from your device and TuneXa works out the chords. You get a full timeline you can scroll and tap, the detected key, and every chord shown as a guitar diagram, piano voicing or chart grid.

The engine was rebuilt from the ground up. It uses a constant-Q transform — frequency resolution spaced by semitone rather than evenly in hertz, which is what music actually needs. It measures the recording's tuning first, so tracks that aren't at concert pitch still land on the right chords. Harmonic and percussive content are separated before analysis, so drums and transients stop polluting the result.

CHROMATIC TUNER

Fast, responsive needle tuner for guitar, bass, ukulele, violin and voice. Alternate and drop tunings included. Clear visual feedback so you can tune in a noisy room.

Adjustable tempo and time signatures with a clean, audible click. Detect the BPM of any track in your library so you can practise along at the right speed.

VOCAL RANGE

Sing your lowest and highest comfortable notes and TuneXa maps your range, names your voice type, and suggests keys that suit you. Practical tips for extending range safely, without straining.

SCALES AND THEORY

Browse scales and modes across fretboard and keyboard layouts. An interactive circle of fifths shows how keys relate, which chords belong together, and where a progression is likely to move next.

SONG RECOGNITION

Identify what's playing around you. A home screen widget means one tap and you have the title, artist and artwork — no need to open the app.

PRACTICE LOOPER

Isolate a difficult passage and loop it. Playback continues in the background so you can keep both hands on the instrument.

A NOTE ON ACCURACY

Chord detection shows a confidence figure with every analysis. That number is the engine's own certainty about the match — not a guarantee. Clear recordings of piano, acoustic guitar, worship and singer-songwriter material read high. Dense mixes, heavy distortion and complex jazz voicings are harder, and the figure will tell you so. We would rather show you an honest number than a flattering one.
