Timedisk: Visual Timer Adults

A visual timer you can read from across the room — and watch drain to nothing.

Timedisk shows time as a shrinking disk. A wide coloured wedge fills the screen, and as the minutes pass it visibly disappears. There are no digits to decode and no arithmetic to do: you glance at it and you know how much is left. That is what a visual timer is for, and it works for the people a digital clock has always failed.

SET IT IN TWO SECONDS

Drag your thumb around the dial to any length, or tap a preset — 5, 10, 15, 25, or one of your own. Start. That is the entire interaction, which matters when starting is the hard part.

A VISUAL TIMER FOR ADULTS, NOT ONLY FOR CLASSROOMS

Visual timers have been styled for six-year-olds for twenty years. Timedisk's default look is clean, quiet, and grown-up, so it can sit on your desk in a meeting without announcing anything about you. When it is for a child, kid mode flips it to big playful shapes and colours.

A COUNTDOWN ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN

An ongoing notification keeps the countdown and a progress bar on your lock screen the whole time a timer runs. Set it, put the phone face up, walk away, and glance over from the other side of the kitchen. The timer keeps perfect time even if you close the app or restart the phone, because it counts down to a fixed moment rather than ticking along.

A ROUTINE TIMER FOR KIDS AND FOR YOUR OWN MORNINGS

Build a routine out of steps — dress 10, breakfast 15, shoes 5 — each with its own label, length, and colour. Timedisk runs them back to back, chimes between them, and always shows what is running now and what is coming next. It is a morning routine timer, a bedtime routine timer, a homework timer, a cleaning-sprint timer, and a classroom transition timer, depending on the day.

BUILT FOR TIME BLINDNESS

If you have ADHD, or you look after someone who does, you already know that "five more minutes" is not a unit anyone can feel. An ADHD visual timer works precisely because it stops being a number: a disk that visibly empties turns time into something you can watch arriving. The same goes for autistic routines and visual schedules, for children who cannot read a clock yet, and for anyone who looks up and finds an hour gone. If you have been searching for a time blindness app rather than another productivity system, this is the one built for it.

A TRANSITION TIMER THAT ENDS ARGUMENTS

The hardest part of any transition is the moment it arrives without warning. With a transition timer everyone can see, the ending is visible for the whole ten minutes before it happens — for a child leaving the park, a class changing tasks, or you leaving a task you are deep inside.

ALERTS THAT LAND

Pick a sound per timer, feel the haptic, and see the screen flash at zero. Through the last stretch the colour shifts to warn you it is nearly up, so the end never ambushes you.
