The Book of Life After Death

Wise people are those who understand their purpose in life. Among them, he realized that his obligation was to 'worship' to Allah (QS. Al-Dzāriyāt [51]: 56).

Because Allah is the owner and ruler (mālik). Even the hereafter will be His (Qs. 1: 3). So, his worship is a form of awareness that he is only a ‘abd (servant). And, the king is God. And worship that is projected for the afterlife is a reminder to anyone that there is life after death. There is an afterlife after the world. Allah said, "The Hereafter is better for you than this world." (Surat Al-Dhuha [93]: 4).

And if the afterlife is better (khair) than this world does not mean that this world is not important. The world is still important. It's just that the world is a "bridge" to the afterlife.

It is not an eternal place for humans, because humans must leave it. When he died, he would also return to the real village, the hereafter village (the last place to live). That is why the world and the hereafter cannot be separated. Because Islam knows no dichotomy: divorcing world life from the afterlife. "Seek by you all the pleasures of the afterlife, but don't forget your part in this world." (Surat al-Qaṣaṣ [28]: 77).

So, this world must be managed well, so that life on its surface is not in vain.

Imam Ibn Qudāmah gave important advice about this world. He wrote very beautifully;

"Know! May Allah bless you. This world is the "field" of the afterlife, a place for trading profits, a place to gather provisions, and pile up profitable goods. The person who gets it first wins. In it those who fear success, honest people reap glory, those who do good harvest the results, while people who are reluctant to drink a glass of loss that is matchless.

This world is a dream place to return to heaven and hell.

About the people of hell Allah said: "And they (the people of hell) shouted in hell while saying," O our Lord, get us out of this hell so we can do good deeds other than the deeds (ugliness) that we have done. " (QS. Fāṭir [35]: 37).

Allah also said about them: 'And if you witness when they are confronted with hell, then they say,' May we be returned to the world and not deny the verses of our Lord, and become people of faith ...
