Pecans are not really nuts, they are drupes!

The Pecans are native to South-central North America, in Mexico, South Carolina, Florida and New Mexico. Pecan nuts are cultivated in areas where there is provision of fertile, well-drained, deep soil which has a loose to medium texture.

Pecans are not really nuts, they are drupes! What are drupes It’s a fruit with a single stone or pit, surrounded by a husk. The Ellis pecans are excellent. They are small, but do not let that deter you. The have a rich, sweet taste and tender consistency. They toast beautifully. They were also very nicely shelled, with very few broken nuts and none of that bitter stuff that one sometimes finds in the grooves in the nuts.
