The history of Viação Teixeira began in 1951, when the Teixeira brothers decided to exchange a truck for a Ford F1 "Jardineira". At that time, the founders Antônio Virgilino Teixeira and Waldir Teixeira did not imagine the revolution they would make in passenger transport in the western region of Minas Gerais.

Nine years later, in 1960, brother João Batista Teixeira joined the company and an important route was acquired by Viação Teixeira: Belo Horizonte to Divinópolis.
