About Swift Backup

Back up and restore apps, messages, call logs and files locally or in cloud.

Keep the parts of your Android setup that matter.

Restore them when you switch phones, reset your device or need an earlier backup. Swift Backup gives you one place to manage local, cloud and self-hosted backups without locking you into a single storage provider.

What you can back up

Apps and APKs

App data and selected app settings on rooted devices

Messages and call logs

Folders and files

Applied wallpapers

Saved Wi-Fi networks with Root or Shizuku on supported Android versions

Store backups your way

Save backups on internal storage, an SD card or USB drive where supported.

Connect Swift Backup to:

• Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and Box

• Mega.nz, pCloud, Filen, Yandex.Disk and Cloud Mail.Ru

• WebDAV, including Nextcloud, ownCloud and compatible NAS devices

• S3-compatible storage

• SMB, SFTP, FTP, FTPS and FTPES servers

Designed for real backup workflows

• Create device and cloud backups

• Restore individual APKs manually without root

• Use Root or Shizuku for supported batch operations

• Keep multiple app backup versions, add notes and protect important backups

• Schedule recurring backups to device storage or a connected cloud account

• Group apps with labels and apply custom backup and restore configurations

• Use incremental folder backups to store changed files efficiently

• Search apps, share APKs and manage backups from one clear home screen

Root and Shizuku

Root is not required to back up APKs, messages, call logs, folders or wallpapers.

Backing up and restoring private app data requires root. Some protected app files and batch restore actions require Root or Shizuku, depending on your Android version. See the FAQ for exact requirements.

Premium features

• Cloud backups for apps and folders

• Scheduled backups

• Backup history, notes and protected backups

• App labels

• Custom app backup and restore configurations

Sign-in and encryption

You can use Swift Backup anonymously and offline for local backups. Google Sign-in is required for cloud backups and Premium features. Browser-based sign-in is available on devices without Google Play services.

Backups are encrypted, except APKs, expansion files and wallpapers. Backups are tied to the Swift Backup account used to create them, so use the same account when moving to another device.
