Hackers, cybercriminals, attackers and scammers use fake QR codes and cover real ones to trick you into harmful urls, this is called Quishing (QR code phishing).

For example: you scan a QR menu in a restaurant, you don't know that but a cybercriminal has already put a fake QR on top of the real menu, it sends you to a malicious URL, that even contains the real restaurant menu.

Fake parking payment is another example: a QR sticker glued exactly on top of the real one, leading to fake payment page that looks exactly like the real one, potentially stealing credit card information.
