Samarpan...'A Lifeline' is an initiative run by Community Service Cell Under the aegis of L.P.U.

Human Blood has no substitute. Punjab's annual estimated requirement of blood is around 2.5 lakh units of which, only 50% is met through Voluntary Blood Donation organized by different university/collages, organization and NGO’s. The shortage of blood is so acute that it leads to illegal activities like sale of blood, and trade. Despite a huge number of blood banks and a size-able number of donations in Blood Donation Camps, there are still many people who die due to the unavailability of blood. Samarpan... 'A Lifeline', aims to change this.

It acts as a link between people willing to donate blood and people who need blood.The application aims to ensure that every patient in Punjab who needs blood, get SAFE, and FREE blood.

Motto: Help at right time, and right place.

Objectives:

1)To create awareness and motivate Students and people for Blood Donation.

2)To help people, in case of blood deficiency.

3)To end the concept of replacement donation by ensuring continuous supply of blood through Voluntary Blood donation in Government blood banks.

4)To continuously organize Blood Donation Camps with Government hospitals and National Level NGO’s and to have collaborations with them so that they can help us in case of any requirement for blood.

5)To help the people at right time, and right place

Vision of Samarpan...'A Lifeline'

1)Youth regularly donates blood and understands the importance of regular voluntary blood donation.

2)Blood banks never say no to patients.They should have enough blood in their blood banks. Replacement donations as a concept should not exist.

3)All blood donations should be voluntary.

4)Government blood banks improve their efficiency and become capable enough to organize good blood donation camps.
