Great Psalm
1 My soul rests only in God; from him comes my salvation.
2 Only he is the rock that saves me; He is my safe tower! I will never be shaken!
3 How long will you all attack a man who stands like a sloping wall, like a fence about to fall?
4 Their whole purpose is to bring him down from his high position; they delight in lies. With their mouth they bless, but inwardly they curse.
5 Rest only in God, O my soul; From him comes my hope.
6 Only he is the rock that saves me; He is my high tower! I will not be shaken!
7 My salvation and my honor from God depend; he is my firm rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out his heart before him, for he is our refuge.
9 Men of humble origin are but a breath, men of important origin are but lies; weighed on the scale, together they do not reach the weight of a breath.
10 Do not rely on extortion or hope for stolen goods; if your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
11 Once God has spoken, twice I have heard, that power belongs to God.
12 With you also, Lord, is faithfulness. Admittedly, you will repay each according to his own procedure.
