Blobber

Lets you drop a message at a location and make it accessible to everybody nearby

Blobber let's you chat with nearby people or leave a message for future passersby! Just write a message submit it (DROP THE BLOB) and it can be read by all nearby Blobber users.

- Get in a conversation with people in the same room, even though you don't have their contact details.

- Comment on the restaurant, bar, museum or architecture in your vicinity.

- View Blobs from other users.

*** Permission explanation

#ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION -- This is required to obtain GPS coordinates, which in turn are required to both, obtain the list of blobs relevant to you (near you) and to place a blob at these coordinates. If you have GPS switched off on your device, Blobber will only access WIFI to get coordinates.

#ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_STATE -- To scan for WIFI networks around you. These are used for blob placement, if no GPS coordinates are available.

#INTERNET -- Blobber has to store blobs on a central server. This permission is required for blobber to access this server.

#READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE -- If you want to share an image via Blobber, and the image is stored on your SD card, this permission is required.

#READ_PHONE_STATE -- Instead of requiring you to sign in / have a user account, blobber will use a unique ID provided by your device. This permission is required to get this ID.

#IS BLOBBER ANONYMOUS AND CAN I PUBLISH OFFENDING OR ILLEGAL CONTENT? Absolutely not. Blobber is a fun platform for everyone to enjoy. You are responsible for the content you post.

#AM I BEING SPIED ON? No. 1. If you close the app, there will be no traffic to the server. 2. The data sent to the server for polling does not contain user identifying data and is not enriched. 3. When you drop a blob, only the minimum data to prevent illegal use is stored.
