The Bible is not contradictory. Since the Bible was inspired by God through the Holy Spirit, it can only be understood that the message is true, trustworthy and error free. If this were not the case, the Bible would not be in existence today. The Apologist must always be diligent in proclaiming the inerrancy of the Bible. The Bible itself lays claim to its infallibility and just as we can turn to it for inspiration and other vital messages, we can refer to it to find out exactly how trustworthy it really is.

"The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple". Psalm 19:7

"I assure you, until heaven and earth disappear, even the smallest detail of God's law will remain until its purpose is

achieved". Matthew 5:18

One of the complaints of contradictions in the bible is the four Gospels. Critics say that the messages do not correspond. However, common sense would tell you four different people recounting the same event will not describe it in exactly the same words or in the same way. One person would have more details than the other. But the basic message will be the same. If all four authors wrote the exact same account then the critics will find fault with this also.

Not everything in the Bible needs to be taken literally. For example, Revelation carries a lot of symbols to describe what will happen in the last days. The church is described as a woman and a nation as an animal such as a lion or bear. Once these symbols are understood then the message will be better understood.
