ResourceRouter is a community-first resource management tool that improves crime deterrence in cities using a dual-faceted approach:

1) Community Violence Intervention (CVI) and other social service programs use ResourceRouter to make data-informed resource allocation decisions to optimize their team presence in high-risk areas, deter crime, and improve public safety and community well-being. CVI and community outreach workers no longer need to resort to reactive, gut-based interventions — ResourceRouter provides proactive place-based insights and suggested engagement activities that enable critical stakeholders to maximize their impact by reducing violence in the communities they serve.

2) Police use it as a patrol and analyst tool to automate the daily identification of high-risk areas for Part 1 crimes and to plan directed patrols across an entire jurisdiction. With ResourceRouter, analysts and supervisors review pre-generated directed patrol assignments that ensure officers are at the right place at the right time to maximize crime prevention while also guarding against over and under-policing. Pre-patrol briefings provide situational awareness and recommended patrol tactics to officers, facilitating optimal outcomes despite limited staffing and resources.

- Captures time spent in high-risk areas. This provides a layer of accountability and oversight that ensures that CVI, social services, other outreach workers, and police get credit for the work they do and helps to avoid over or under-policing, which is critically important for building trust within communities.

- Informs users of recent crime events and risk factors before entering a high-risk area.

- Prescribes and tracks outreach worker intervention and low-touch police activities that promote community trust.

- Captures and tracks observations made while in an area for later follow-up.

- Provides detailed analytics that are critical to measuring impacts on crime, violence. and the delivery of resources that address the root causes of violence.
