Recompa is designed for Android users who want to keep native game ports in one library instead of managing separate installers and folders. It collects recompilations, decompilations, and source ports in a curated catalog, while keeping each port connected to its original developer. As a result, you can browse available projects and download Recompa to manage compatible ports from one place.
Catalog of native ports
Recompa lists more than 250 native ports from platforms such as PC, Nintendo 64, Xbox 360, GameCube, GBA, PSP, PlayStation, and Switch. These projects run as Android ports rather than through emulation. Each catalog entry helps you identify a port before choosing whether to install it.
Install from original repositories
Recompa obtains port APK files from the original authors’ GitHub repositories. Before installation, it checks the SHA 256 hash and APK signature for the selected release. This lets you see that the downloaded file matches the release information provided by the port author.
Game files wizard
Many native game ports require files from a game you legally own, such as a ROM, disc image, ISO, or PC game data. Recompa does not include or host these copyrighted files. When a port needs them, the game files wizard checks the files you provide and places them in the required location automatically.
Updates and installed port management
It can check installed ports for new releases and notify you when an update is available. You can update multiple installed ports together, while downloads can continue in the background or resume after being paused. If a newer release causes an issue, Recompa also offers an option to return to an earlier version.
Controller-focused library navigation
You can browse Recompa with touch controls or with a controller using the D-pad and shoulder buttons. Search and favorites make it easier to return to selected ports in a larger library. The app can also link ports that you installed manually, so they appear alongside ports managed through the catalog.
Recompa manages installers and game files, but it does not provide the games themselves. Before installing a port, check whether it requires original game data and make sure you have a legal copy available. Some ports may also have different device compatibility, so user compatibility reports can help you review experiences from other players.
Users can submit a compatibility report from the app and view reports shared by others. You can also suggest a missing port for the catalog without creating a GitHub account. This community information can be useful when deciding which native game ports to try on a particular Android device.
Recompa includes a handheld-friendly frontend mode that can work as a library screen on controller-based Android handhelds. It supports full-screen navigation and, on compatible dual-screen handhelds, second-screen use. The interface can be changed between six styles: Classic, Shelves, List, Arcade, Mosaic, and Showcase.
These layouts change how your installed ports appear in the library. For example, a list view can suit larger collections, while a cover-focused layout can make individual entries easier to browse with a controller. The selected style does not change the port itself or its game file requirements.
Recompa keeps port browsing, installation, and library management in the same interface. Before using Recompa latest version, prepare any legally owned game files required by the port you want to run.
Open Recompa and browse the catalog, use search, or check a category to find a native port.
Select a port entry and review whether it needs a ROM, ISO, disc data, or PC game files.
Choose the available release so Recompa can download the APK from the author’s repository and verify it.
If the port needs game data, follow the game files wizard and select the files from your device.
Return to the library to launch the installed port, add it to favorites, or check for updates later.
Recompa is a launcher and manager for supported Android native ports, with tools for installation, game file setup, updates, and controller navigation. Download Recompa if you want to keep compatible ports and their required files organized in one Android library. As of now, there is no downloadable build. Upon the game’s official launch, you can download Recompa APK straight from APKPure.
