PocketAI turns your phone into a remote control for your personal AI setup. Whether you're away from your desk or just want the freedom to work from anywhere, PocketAI keeps you connected to your local AI agents, your projects, and your files — all without sending a single byte to the cloud.

── HOW IT WORKS ──

PocketAI connects directly to your computer over your private network using a companion desktop app called Cortex (https://github.com/thenoobcoder001/Cortex). Once Cortex is running on your machine, simply enter your computer's local IP address in PocketAI and tap Connect. That's it — you're live.

No cloud accounts. No subscriptions. No middlemen. Just your phone talking directly to your computer.

• Chat with your AI from anywhere — Ask questions, get code written, debug issues, plan projects, or just brainstorm ideas. Your AI responds in real time, streaming directly from your desktop.

• Work across multiple projects — Link any folder on your computer as a workspace. Switch between projects instantly and pick up exactly where you left off.

• Choose your AI persona — Switch between Programmer, Assistant, Planner, Troubleshooter, and Teacher modes to shape how your AI responds to you.

• Control file access — Toggle between Allow Edits and Safe Mode to decide whether your AI can modify files on your computer or just read them.

• Switch AI models on the fly — Select from Codex, Claude, Gemini, and more directly from the app. Change your AI engine without touching your desktop.

• Manage your chats — Create new chats, rename them, delete old ones, and scroll back through full conversation history — all from your phone.

── BUILT FOR PRIVACY ──

PocketAI is private by design. Your conversations, your code, and your files never leave your own network. There are no third-party analytics, no usage tracking, and no cloud storage. The app stores only your connection address and workspace preferences locally on your phone — nothing else.

When you unlink your device from Settings, all locally cached data is immediately cleared.

── REQUIREMENTS ──

• The Cortex desktop app must be installed and running on your computer.

• Your phone and computer must be on the same network, or connected via a private tunnel like Tailscale.

• Compatible with Android 7.0 and above.

── GET STARTED ──

1. Install Cortex on your computer from https://github.com/thenoobcoder001/Cortex

2. Run Cortex and note your computer's local IP address

3. Open PocketAI, enter the address as http://:8765, and tap Connect

4. Select a workspace folder and tap Open Workspace

5. Start chatting — your AI is ready
