plaintxt

plaintxt is anonymous, end-to-end encrypted messaging. No phone number, no email, no account — and your messages stay yours until you delete them.

NO IDENTITY REQUIRED

• no phone number, no email, no real name

• create an identity in seconds — a username and a key made on your device

• burn your identity any time: everything tied to it is erased and the username is released

END-TO-END ENCRYPTED

• messages and files are encrypted on your device before they leave it

• the server stores ciphertext it cannot read

• your private key never leaves your device — stored encrypted by the Android Keystore, excluded from backups

YOU DECIDE WHAT STAYS

• messages stay until you delete them — no timer you didn't choose

• deleting a message, a conversation or your whole identity is a hard delete, with no trash and no backup to restore from

• burn-after-read is available as an opt-in per conversation on paid plans

• unused free identities are removed after 180 days of inactivity

BUILT FOR REAL CONVERSATIONS

• invite a contact through your own messaging app — no contacts permission, nothing uploaded

• one-time invite links, QR codes, or share through any app you already use

• encrypted photo and file sharing

• real-time delivery with typing and read indicators

• seven themes plus a high-contrast mode

PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE, NOT BY PROMISE

• no ads, no trackers, no third-party analytics

• notifications carry no message content — ever

• screenshots and screen recording are blocked inside the app

• report and block controls are built into every conversation

plaintxt is free to use and designed for adults 18+.
