Tahlilan is a religious tradition in Muslim society, especially in Indonesia, which is carried out to pray for someone who has died. This event usually involves the recitation of dhikr, especially the phrase "La ilaha illallah" (there is no god but Allah), along with the recitation of surah Al-Fatihah, salawat, and other prayers. Tahlilan is carried out with the aim of asking for forgiveness for the deceased and providing peace for the family left behind. This activity is often carried out on the seventh day, forty, one hundred days, or on certain anniversaries after death.
