You start with nothing but a dream some money and a worldmap. The goal is to be the richest person on earth! We're only saying person because we had some monkeys as beta tester with no particular luck, so it's still a human game no matter what Dave says.

So yes, create your empire. Build buildings connect them to resources and earn your living by being creative and sneaky. You could trade your hard earned money for some players stock and hope that they do a better job than you or Dave.
