“The boy in a world of his own” is a children's story that addresses the topic of mental health and the importance of family, school and professional support.

This is the story of André, a boy who lives in his own world.

At school, André feels alone.

Other children's games confuse him and make him feel excluded.

André longs for a place where there are no judgments or labels.

While his colleagues consider him strange, André deals with the anguish of being different.

But, with the loving support of his mother and teacher, he begins to realize that everyone has their place in the world.

This project is part of the material “Mental Health Literacy – Overcoming Stigma” and was developed within the scope of the Project “Desire – Communicate – Act – Mental Health Promotion Program in Higher Education – FLAD/OPP”.

“The boy in a world of his own” is a children’s story that addresses the stigmas of mental health.

It can be used as a tool to promote mental health literacy.

The aim is to help combat stigmas around mental health difficulties and problems.

In the current context of society, it is crucial to cultivate diverse perspectives on mental health.

Challenges related to mental health are serious matters and can result in discrimination, social exclusion and even a reluctance to seek treatment.

The stigma associated with mental health problems is a serious issue that can lead to discrimination, social exclusion and even hesitation in seeking professional help.

The fight against stigma regarding mental health is extremely important, as it plays a fundamental role in improving the quality of life of people impacted by these issues.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 1 in 4 people in the world face one or more mental and neurological challenges at some point in their lives.

It is essential to address this topic from childhood, teaching children and young people about the importance of understanding and supporting mental health issues.
