O Cheiro do Queijo

In "The Smell of Cheese", you take on the role of a mouse with hungry puppies. The game is mobile, with short phases, focusing on stealth mechanics and puzzles. This game was developed as a project for the casual games block at the ECDD Game Design faculty.

History

A rat and her baby are starving and the only way out is to venture into houses full of cheese to feed the offspring. With each level completed, a new challenge and more mouths to feed.

Goals

- Main: Find a piece of cheese and leave the house without being detected.

- Secondary: Collect other hidden and collectable items.

- Bonus: Complete the level in less time to receive a better rating.

Game Mechanics

Search and Escape

Locate cheese scattered around the house and escape as quickly as possible to complete the level.

Attention to Residents

If detected by the house's residents, prepare for an intense chase. Use your knowledge of the house's layout to escape.

Strategic Hideouts

Use large furniture to hide from villagers and avoid detection.

Animal Behavior

Animals such as parrots can either alert residents to their presence or be used to distract them.

Collecting Treasures

In addition to the main objective of collecting cheese, the game offers hidden treasures that players can collect.

Consequences

Being caught by the villagers results in a game over for that level, requiring the player to restart the mission.

Controls

The game has simple controls. Drag your finger across the screen to move the character. Action buttons will appear for specific interactions.

Monetization

- Ads are displayed if the player is captured too many times.

- Option to see ad for an extra life in the next turn

- Purchase option to remove ads.

Visuals

The game has a pixel art look with a top-down view.
