Nutrition Surveillance System (NSS) is a program that works to provide monthly reports for data related to Health, Nutrition Indicators based on Standard definitions of Severe and moderate acute malnutrition (SAM, MAM) from health facilities for early notification and response using Internet Web System accessed by reporters in health facilities using Computers and mobile phones GPRS and/or any computer connected to internet.
NSS started in August 2014, in 7 Governorates (Aden, Taiz, Lahj ,Abyan,Al Hodaidah, Sadaa and Hajah) with 28 health facilities.
As a result of the monthly reports, Nss program produce monthly Reports (Bulletins) that summaries the submitted reports from health facilities in a readable format, showing the Trends of malnutrition in children under 5 , the actions responded By referral of the confirmed Severely malnourished children to OTPs and TFCs and providing the care givers of children with the proper health and nutrition education
