What is Heartbleed?
Heartbleed is a software bug in the OpenSSL security library. This OpenSSL library is used in many applications and websites to protect your communication with a technology called SSL and TLS. This is denoted by the “HTTPS” prefix in your web browser. Some versions of OpenSSL have a bug which will allow a hacker to request information that should not be accessible. This information could potentially include passwords, private keys and other private or sensitive information. This information can be used to compromise login accounts for websites or steal personal information.
How can I protect myself?
