After Mahabharat war was over and things got settled, Krishna decided to go to Dwaraka. At that time Arjuna requested Lord to repeat the advice given on the battlefield. i.e. to repeat Bhagawatgita discourse to which Lord expressed inability. However he offered to tell him something similar. This second discourse is known as Anugita.
