James Stephen "Jimmy" Donaldson (born May 7, 1998), better known as MrBeast, is an American YouTuber best known for his high-priced stunts and philanthropy. Donaldson began posting videos to YouTube in 2012 at the age of 13, under the name "MrBeast6000"; his initial content ranged from Let's Plays to "videos estimating other YouTubers' fortunes". However, his videos remained in relative obscurity – averaging around a thousand views each – until the 2017 release of his "count to 100,000" videos generating tens of thousands of views in just a few days. As of December 2019, Donaldson had more than 28 million subscribers on YouTube

Donaldson's videos typically feature "attention-grabbing stunts." He often makes videos about donating thousands of dollars, many of these videos are sponsored (although he has donated without sponsors in the past). In January 2017, Donaldson posted almost daily videos of himself counting to 100,000. The stunt took 40 hours, with some parts sped up to "keep it under 24 hours". A subsequent video entitled "Counting to 200,000 (Road to a Mile)" was uploaded the following month, although, according to Donaldson, that video also had to be sped up because the full fifty-five hour count exceeded YouTube's upload limit. Additionally, Donaldson has attempted to break glass using a hundred megaphones, watching paint dry for an hour.
