MedLit provides real-time video calling functionality that allows users to seamlessly communicate between patient and physician as well as between student and physician. The app enables smooth and reliable video calls even when users switch between different apps or the app is minimized.

To ensure uninterrupted calls, the application uses the foreground service during active calls. This foreground service helps maintain a stable connection and ensures that ongoing calls are not interrupted by background processes. It also provides users with a notification indicating that a call is in progress, ensuring that they are aware of ongoing activity.

These features are enabled by the Agora RTC Engine, which requires the FOREGROUND_SERVICE permission to efficiently run the application's real-time communication services during active calls.
