mapōōi (Unreleased)

A social information-mapping application.

Mapōōi (map-ōō-ee) is a new and unique mobile “information-mapping” application. While personal location privacy is normally desired, there are times when posting location is of value. For example, posting something for sale (eg, a garage sale, a car), sharing a musical or sporting event, a warning to others (eg, accident, flood, disease, crime), or a check-in by your child.

Mapōōi "mashes-up" Twitter and Google Maps, placing social posts on the map. Search filters provide a way to focus what is important to the user. Although mapōōi can be used for general browsing, the search filter will allow cutting out thousands of irrelevant posts using key words and location criteria.

Mapōōi will evolve with time, and new features will be added. Early adoption is expected to take time, but as more and more users come on board, its utility is expected to increase sharply, as will its value. In this first configuration, we want to optimize the value, so your suggestions and feedback will be particularly evaluated.
