Use the app to navigate between 7 stops on the trail and unlock content and activities as you go; learning about bees, how important they are to the food chain and how you can help preserve the environment they need in order to thrive. You'll also see for yourself how the new King's Cross development has put nature and sustainability firmly on the agenda.
There's lots to see and do as you walk around the Bee Trail, including art, architecture, history, people-watching, eating, drinking, and of course getting closer to nature. It's a great place to bring children (cool off by splashing around in the 1000 choreographed fountains and get hands-on bug spotting in Camley Street Natural Park) or hang out with friends (grab some street food at Kerb or go for a refreshing swim at the King's Cross Pond).
The trail incorporates Beacon technology; a cutting-edge technology that works by sending a signal to your phone when you're within a certain proximity (via bluetooth) which then reveals content and triggers activities.
As you go around the BeeTrail we'd like you to complete three BeeCounts. It'll only take 30 seconds and all the data you collect will help scientists understand the populations of urban bees in King's Cross. It also means you'll earn money-off vouchers to spend in 3 of the best eateries in King's Cross (Dishoom, The Greek Larder, Rotunda, Kings Place and The Skip Garden Kitchen).
