STS - Safe than Sorry is an application to prevent users from travelling through isolated or unfrequented routes. The motive of our application is to be able to redirect you onto a more reliable location.

Why STS?

- Travel through routes that have relatively more number of establishments such as Hospitals, Police Stations, Banks, Mosques, Movie Theatres, Malls, Hindu Temples, Restaurants, Hotels, and Stores etc.

- Give feedback on the safety of routes, so that it can influence the safety quotient of route.

STS calculates the safety of a route based on the commercial establishments present along the route and the feedback submitted by travelers that have previously travelled along the route all while taking into account the time taken to reach the destination.

The application tracks your current location by default. As a user, you may use this location to travel to the required destination or may choose a different source to travel from.

Safe than Sorry Application uses Google Maps and finds stores and other commercial and public establishments that are identified by Google. You will be directed along a safe route, the safety of which is determined by the count of establishments that can be found along the route. This in combination with the feedback rating submitted by the users who have taken the same route previously helps predict the safety quotient of the route at a given time.

The application can also be used to redirect oneself to the nearest Hospital or Police Station as per necessity and requirement.

User’s feedback is collected and authenticated using their Google Sign. You can log you’re your Google Account and submit a simple feedback about their travel so that it can benefit the users who will travel through the same route in the future.

Once you have been notified about the safest route, you can select a route in order to be navigated. The application will redirect you to Google maps along with the coordinates of the safest route. Hence, Google Maps will navigate the user from the given source to destination along the safest route calculated by the Safe than Sorry Application
