About the Developers

“Chips of Wisdom” was developed as a way to honor the late Jim Herr, founder of Herr Foods Inc. Jim used his Book of Proverbs to give him insight when making business and communication decisions. He would make sure that new employees to Herr Foods Inc. would be exposed to the Book of Proverbs and could likewise rely on it when making their own business decisions.

Jim passed away in April of 2012. Through this app, he offers his "Chips of Wisdom" with the following introduction.

Dear Friends,

I have found the Book of Proverbs to be especially helpful, and this is why I would like to share it with you. Many times these proverbs are insightful in making business and communication decisions. They are firm and to the point. By reading a chapter a day, the book can be completed in a month, and even after many times through there are still new thoughts to be found.

My greatest question is: How does a man become wise? The first step is to trust and reverence the Lord (chapter 1, verse 7). To me, reverence means recognizing God as the great Creator, trusting Jesus Christ His Son as Redeemer, and allowing His Holy Spirit to guide me. What naturally follows is a desire to serve other people.

I hope this little book will help develop your unlimited potential, open new avenues of thinking, and enhance your joy of living.
