No device database. Nothing is looked up by phone model; every value is read fresh from your hardware, right now.

WHAT IT CHECKS

• Camera2 hardware level per camera: LEGACY, LIMITED, FULL or LEVEL_3

• Manual sensor control (manual exposure, ISO, focus)

• RAW / DNG capture

• High-speed burst capture

• Every reported Camera2 capability: depth output, logical multi-camera, 10-bit dynamic range, ultra-high-resolution sensors, monochrome and more

• Sensor and lens details: max photo resolution, sensor pixel array, ISO range, exposure-time range, apertures, focal lengths, physical sensor size, flash

THE COMPATIBILITY VERDICT

From those live flags — never from a model lookup — it derives a clear verdict for advanced manual camera apps and camera ports (GCam-style):

• Excellent — full manual control, RAW and burst are all exposed

• Partial — runs, but some advanced modes may be limited

• Basic apps only — no usable manual pipeline is exposed

• Incompatible — LEGACY level; Camera2 is emulated over the old camera HAL

WHY IT'S HONEST

Some manufacturers disable parts of Camera2 by default, so two phones with the same model name can differ. This app shows what YOUR device exposes to apps right now — and a working port may still need per-device tuning. We say so, in the app.

• No camera permission — reading hardware capabilities needs none.

• No camera database, no model inference, no whitelist.

• Your camera data never leaves the app.

• A single banner ad supports development; Google AdMob may use an advertising ID to serve it, and you control that in the consent screen. A future Pro option removes it.
