Halification is an award winning app that keeps you informed via email and text messages by monitoring multiple data sources released by the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia:

- Get reminded of what kind of waste will be collected the next morning.

- Find out what crimes happened near your home.

- Be informed about school closures in the winter.

- Know when the winter parking ban is in effect and enforced.

- Get warnings of upcoming Storms and severe weather.

The Halification system polls data from various sources such as the Halifax Open Data Catalogue, HRSB, Environment Canada, twitter, and Halifax.ca. The system will monitor any new data that arrives and pushes out the notifications that you subscribed to via Email and/or SMS.

You can turn ON or OFF the subscriptions at any time using the app. Register with us and start receiving alerts and reminders for the things that matter to you. Use the feedback button to tell us what you think and request new subscriptions. We will source the necessary data to make the most demanded subscriptions a reality.
