John Winston Lennon (born in Liverpool, England, October 9, 1940 - died in New York City, USA, December 8, 1980 at the age of 40) is best known as a famous singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, writer and political activist throughout the world as the leader of The Beatles.Lennon and Paul McCartney formed the most successful and successful songwriting partnership to date. Lennon with his cynicism and McCartney with his optimism complement each other very well. After the dissolution of The Beatles in 1970, he was also successful with his solo career. One of his hits that is still very famous is Imagine, a song that later became one of the world peace hymns.He died in New York at the age of 40, shot by Mark Chapman, his crazy fan.

Lennon also shows his rebellious nature and cynical humor in films such as A Hard Day's Night (1964), in books he wrote like In His Own Write, press conferences and interviews. He uses his popularity for his activities as a peace activist, artist and writer.
