Here in USA, the Federal law permits recording in-person conversations with the consent of at least one of the parties. See 18 U.S.C. 2511(2)(d). This is called a "one-party consent" law. Under a one-party consent law, you can record a conversation so long as you are a party to the conversation. Under no circumstances of the law, you can record a person conversation without this person first be notified. The app designer is not and will not be responsible for any misunderstanding of the law, in USA nor at any other countries.
