Pre-school is for children who are over 2 years but not old enough to start school yet. It’s a good way of getting your child ready for the real thing as we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to help them learn as they play.

Session times

Pre-school opens every weekday morning during term time for children aged 2 to 4 years. We also currently open in the afternoons from Monday to Thursday inclusive (not Fridays) but these sessions are for children aged 3 to 4 years only.

All-day sessions are available from Monday to Thursday inclusive, and these are also for children aged 3 to 4 years only. These are designed with starting school in mind to help make it a smoother transition when they move on to Reception class.

* Statham Little Foxes is open during school term times, which are standard across the Warrington area. The sessions above are correct for the Autumn first half term 2013-14 and may change for future half terms, subject to demand. Latest term times are available here.

Curriculum.

To the boys and girls at Statham Little Foxes we hope it just seems like good fun, but our pre-school curriculum is tailored to support the Early Years Foundation Stage.

This means our approach reflects the government’s national framework for the learning, development and care of children from birth to the age of five.

Put simply, the Early Years Foundation Stage was developed to ensure childcare is safe and secure, while giving the best possible support to help kids fulfil their potential. That’s exactly what we aim to do.

Our curriculum puts a focus on a small number of themes each term to help your child’s understanding of the world around them. As well as helping them get the most from their time with us, it is a great way of warming them up for the big move to primary school.

Fees and Refreshments.

PRE-SCHOOL

2 - 2.5 years £4.85 per hour. £14.55 per session

2.5 - 4 years £3.70 per hour. £11.10 per session

Please note that all children are eligible for government funding from the first full term after they turn 3-years-old. This covers the cost of up to 5 sessions a week.

We can help arrange your child’s grant funding for you, please just ask our staff for assistance.

Food and drink

We’ll provide a snack for your child during each half day session. However, we do not provide lunch for children attending the all-day pre-school on Mondays or Thursdays, so parents using these sessions are asked to provide a packed lunch for their child.

Breakfast Club

Pre-school children aged over 3 years can attend the Statham Little Foxes Breakfast Club at a cost of £4.25 a day. This runs from 7.45am to 9am and includes breakfast with a choice of cereals, toast and fresh fruit. Please visit the Breakfast Club section to find out more.
