Ads, even if disabeld, in 4.4.52

I have used the Rocketplayer for many years now. Yesterday I updated to 4.4.52 and it showed ads even though I disabled them in the settings ...

I downgraded to 4.2.52 (I backuped the config using Titanium Backup, deinstalled, installed 4.2.52 where I had an apk in a backup, restored just the data)
