Providing education, social support, and empowerment to Muslims born, reared or converted in the United States, to ascertain and advocate for thier needs and provide outreach to our neighbors (Muslims and non-Muslims), media and government with the true and peaceful message of Islam.
This is where you need to be if you are a new revert to Islam or just interested to learn about the religion of Islam. The Sunday meetings are held in the Muslim Academy of Greater Orlando. Imam Abdurahman Sykes who is a revert to Islam will give a lecture/presentation on a specific topic pertaining to the Islamic teachings. Every Sunday, there will be a new topic or a continuation of the previous one. Attemdees will gather in the Cafeteria at 11:00 am for coffee and snacks and then the presentation starts at 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The class is made up of a close knit, family like group, who are mostly non-born Muslims, those who reverted to Islam at a certain point in their lives, and non-Muslims wanting to learn about Islam.
There is no fee to attend the class. Everyone who goes there for the first time keeps on going back every Sunday not only because they find the classes beneficial but also for the special treatment they get as a new addition to the family. We all know how much others can influence our lives in a good or bad way and how important it is to be around the right people in order to enable our faith to increase and our soul to purify. Don't pass on the opportunity to be around the right people.
