I.I.E

I.I.E. is an Index of Instructional Effectiveness. It is an app (or formula) for educators using three variables, to calculate a score for each student that quantifies the effectiveness of a sequence of classroom instruction. The variables are: G (growth which is the difference in percentage from pre to post-test performance on a formative assessment), N (the number of lessons that address the specific information assessed), and E (an estimate of the average degree of student engagement during the sequence on a five point scale using scores of 0, .25, .50, .75, 1.0)
