HOW IT WORKS

STATISTICS FOR YOUR READINGS JOURNAL

Once you have a few readings logged, Hexagram Dreams turns your journal into a quiet mirror. Here is a small part what it shows you:

- Total number of readings you have cast

- Your average pace (readings per week)

- Your best streak of consecutive days

- When your last reading was, and the longest pause you have taken

There are much more advanced stats.

CUSTOM READING

Hexagram explanations are sometimes cryptic, try the Custom interpretation feature.

PRACTICE REMINDER

Set daily or weekly reminders to build a consistent I Ching reflection habit and maintain your streak. Configurable from settings or from the app sidebar.

BACKUP

Login if you want your history to be synced to cloud. That way you're safe if you change phones, or want to use it from another device.

Same can be achieved with exporting the database, but you have to remember to do it manually.

You can also export your readings to pdf or csv (top right menu from diary screen)

ARE YOU A TRADITIONAL I CHING PRACTITIONER?

If you prefer to use yarrow stalks or your own coins for casting, and prefer to read original Zhouyi, or Wilhelm-Baynes translation?

You can still use this app solely for keeping a journal of your readings (use manual input to enter your hexagrams).

One benefit is keeping track of your readings, so you can reflect on them later on. Other benefit is the Statistics that Hexagram Dreams offers you.

ABOUT THE I CHING

Also known as the Yi Jing, Yijing, or Book of Changes, the I Ching is an ancient Chinese divination system built around 64 hexagrams, each representing a unique state of transformation. Rooted in Taoism, it does not tell you what to do. It helps you see how things are shifting and what attitude leads to the best outcome. The goal is not future prediction for its own sake, but perspective, timing, and alignment.
