Himalayan Rocket Stove is a Social Enterprise developing clean burning high efficiency wood combustion technology. We have a range of products initially tailored to the Himalayan context and which are now in production and distribution throughout India.
The technology inside Himalayan Rocket Stove designs feature a vertical secondary combustion vortex that mixes preheated high temperature oxygen with the wood gases released in the primary combustion chamber. This facilitates combustion temperatures well over 700 Celsius (and up to 1000C) which completely burn smoke and releases an abundance of additional heat.
These stoves address three key issues facing the people and environment of the Himalayas, namely deforestation, women’s health and air pollution. As we grow we will endeavour to make these heaters available to other parts of the world.
