Mahakavi Goswami Tulsidas.The word "chalisa" is derived from "chālis" in Hindi, which means 40, as the Hanuman Chalisa has 40 verses.Chanting Hanuman Chalisa gives power and remove fear.

It is said that by reciting Hanuman Chalisa, one can appease the monkey God, Hanuman and seek his blessings. Reciting Hanuman Chalisa also helps in overcoming the bad effects of the Saturn.
