This app requires an active internet connection, as all data is securely stored on a remote server — nothing is saved locally on your phone. This ensures your data remains safe even if your phone is lost.
The app shares a common database with the web version of the flight log, allowing you to view or add flight records from either platform using the same username and password: https://www.theairlinepilots.com/flightlog/login.php
If you're switching from another logbook, you can use the "Brought Forward" feature to enter a one-time summary of your total block hours (including optional night and instrument hours). This ensures all future entries reflect accurate totals.
When adding a new flight, simply enter the date and time — the app automatically calculates block hours, helping to eliminate typing errors. You can edit or delete any record at any time.
The app also includes a powerful filter tool that lets you search and display records based on specific criteria. Just choose a date range and optionally set a filter such as "Departure Airport" and a keyword like "EGLL" to narrow your results. To view all flights within a date range, leave the keyword field blank.
Your flight hours for the past 6 days, 29 days, and 364 days are always shown on the home screen, so you can easily monitor your limits and avoid exceeding regulatory thresholds.
In the Documents section, you can add documents (such as licenses) and their expiry dates. Alerts are color-coded for clarity: Amber indicates a document will expire within 30 days, while Red signals it will expire in 5 days or has already expired. You’ll also receive email reminders as expiry dates approach.
