The Product

In order to make a difference, albeit big or small, in developing a user friendly solution which is a handy guide and is engaging for all age groups especially youngsters by simplifying certain key financial concepts. Keeping this in mind, I have developed an app which covers most key topics and acts like an FAQ with their answers in a multiple choice format. this app helps by compiling and putting together some key and relevant questions in a multiple choice format making it interesting and engaging for anyone seeking answers to the ever so diverse aspects of the financial world.

The Target Audience

The solution is for all age groups young and old – however more specifically for teenagers like myself , who want to start to participate in the financial markets in a small way, however feel lost in the complexity of the ever evolving financial world with complicated terminologies and technical jargons. This could be a handy solution for anyone looking to start out in the financial world – either to invest or to advise.

The Backend & Business Model

This app makes use of Firebase to store data on various collections, such as:

• Questions

• Tests

• Test Attempts

• Subjects

• Users

These make use of

o Ques_id which stores the specific tag of the question

o Sol_url which contains the video for each question’s solution

o Sub_id and test_id which are specific tags given to each subject and test

This app also makes use of Dart on Flutter.

There are various models, such as questions, result, tests, topic and users. All these models fetch their data from the data stored in the firebase collections relating to the firebase collections(questions, tests, test attempts etc.

There is also the use of routes which direct the users to various screen according to their inputs and help them navigate across the app. It contains a list of all the screens and defined names to each screen. Eg: ‘/login’, ‘/attempt’

Additionally, when the user logs into the app, they will be given an access token, which is then used to access the app. The app uses Get x as the framework.

There is also a section called main.dart, which is immediately executed when the app is launched. This main.dart execution takes the user to the splash screen(logo) for appx 2 sec, before the home screen is displayed.

Lastly, Arguments are used to display data sent from one screen to another – number of questions answered right or wrong to be shown on analysis page

How is it Innovative & Different?

The financial world is ambiguous to many and the need to simplify the same is imminent. The ability to simplify the financial world for the younger generation (more so teenagers) who are starting to develop a broad understanding of the Capital Markets/Financial world.

While there is enough and more data via books and internet on the financial world, however it is very scattered and complex and there is still lacking a crisp/concise one stop solution with relevant terminologies/questions that an early investor/teen/financial novice needs to know, especially in a multiple choice format to make it more engaging.

Once launched, this app can constantly evolve with changing trends and be a simplified solution for anyone and everyone who is new to the finance world.

I have spent time with a few bankers and financial advisors and have come up with a set of FAQ’s which most of their first time investor clients ask and are clueless about. The multiple choice concept and user friendly videos would make the app more engaging and the correct answer would also carry a brief explanation.

The app will be a one stop shop to educate a new investor on various concepts. This app can constantly evolve and be a simplified solution for anyone and everyone who is new to the finance world.
