The Facial Nerve Grading System

The Facial Nerve Grading System is widely used to characterize the degree of the facial nerve function and provide reproducible information.

In this scale, grade I (score <5) is assigned to normal function, and grade VI (score =24) represents complete paralysis. Intermediate grades vary according to function at rest and with effort.
