Henna word comes from the Latin for plant Lawsonia Inermis spoken by Arabs as Hinna. The exact origins of the art of mehndi hard to say because it has nearly 5,000 years old. Some historians say that the Mogul was the one who brought the mehndi to India but other historians say that the origin of mehndi is India, while others say that the origin of mehndi is the Middle East or North Africa.

Henna plant can reach a height of 4 to 6 feet and can be found in countries such as Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Uganda, Morocco, Senegal, Tanzania, Kenya, Iran and Palestine. Henna grows quite well in hot climates.

Henna is the name of the oldest herbs used as cosmetics. Very safe to use. Rarely cause problems. If in doubt because it has sensitive skin, it is worth consulting with your doctor and try it in small quantities.
