Mosque Tower Design

The minarets are usually towering buildings with loudspeakers for the azan. The location of the minaret is mostly an addition to the mosque's main building. There is a tower built together with the mosque building, but there are many minarets that are located separately from the main building of the mosque.

The existing mosque minarets are varied. There are classical shapes, variations, rectangles, spiral towers, and cylinder towers. In the classical tower, the ground floor is rectangular, rises upwards into an octagon, then the cylinder tower with the top of a small dome.

The type of variation tower begins with a rectangle at the bottom, then transforms into a hexagon decorated with an octagonal balcony. Meanwhile, the type of cylinder towers built in the cylinder diameter is getting smaller at the peak. This type of tower is found in mosques in Iran, such as minarets Natanz Mosque.
